opd Open a document

The Open Page Document

One file, any browser, exactly as written.

opd keeps a document's text, fonts and pages together in a single file that anyone can open offline.

Why opd

Built to last, and to be trusted.

A document should not depend on a service staying online or a program staying installed. opd is an open format, so it does not.

  • One file, opens anywhere

A .opd file carries its text, fonts and images. It opens in any modern browser with nothing to install and nothing uploaded.

  • Frozen pages

When the layout must not move, freeze the pages. The document then looks the same on every screen and prints the same on every printer.

  • Signed and verifiable

Sign a document and anyone can check, on their own device, that it is yours and that it has not changed since.

How it works

From a blank page to a shared file in three steps.

  1. Write

Open the editor and lay out your document, or import a PDF to start from one you already have.

  2. Save

The editor saves one .opd file. Freeze the pages to keep the layout exactly as drawn, and sign it if it needs to be trusted.

  3. Share

Send the file. Anyone can read it in the viewer, offline, and it stays on their device unless they save it to an account.

Take it with you

Each app is also a single file.

Save an app as one HTML file that works offline from any folder, with no install and no account.
